Dafferns Wood Fair and the Wild:LIFE Project

The Project

From bat walks and bug hunting to creating a pond or planting a wildflower meadow, the Wild:LIFE Project hopes to get as many people as possible interested in the nature on their doorstep. Coming Soon. First conservation task at Dafferns Wood!. Contact us to register your interest or follow us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest news.

The project is delivered by a partnership of organisations which includes North Warwickshire Borough Council, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, Groundwork and the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.

We are creating 4 Local Nature Reserves sites in North Warwickshire between now and October 2013. Dafferns Wood will be one of the first of these specially designated sites. Dafferns Wood is an Ancient Woodland. Ancient Woodland is the UK equivalent of Rainforest, home to more rare and threatened species than any other UK habitat. The funding will be used to work with those who and live near the woodland to improve access and create opportunities for learning about the habitats and wildlife in the woodland. We also hope to set up a Friends Group who can guide the development and future management of the woodland.
